Irish dictionary, grammar guide and translator
Every Irish word, with the grammar that goes with it.
Ziovs Irish Dictionary - Foclóir Gaeilge - is an Irish dictionary, a grammar guide and a translator in one, and it runs entirely on your own phone or computer. Look up any Irish or English word and you get the meaning, and with the meaning come the gender, the genitive, the plural, the verbal noun and the comparative. For a verb you get the whole table of tenses and persons. You can also ask it a question: type plural of bean, or is cathair feminine, or how do you say butterfly, and the answer follows as you type. It puts English and fifteen other languages into Irish, writes any number out in Irish, works out the right form of a surname and the right prefix for a name, and speaks every word it knows in a recorded Irish voice. There is no account, no sign-in and no advertising, and nothing you type is ever sent anywhere.

Features
The dictionary itself, with the grammar attached: the meaning, the gender, the genitive, the plural, the verbal noun and the comparative for every word.
The full set of tenses for every verb it knows, with the imperative and the past and future of each person, and the verbal noun and the verbal adjective.
Say who you are talking about and it gives the matching form: sé or sí, fear mór or bean mhór, Ó Ceallaigh or Ní Cheallaigh.
A woman's form and a married woman's form of a surname, a full name that takes the right prefix, and calling someone by name. Type them however you like - case, fadas, apostrophes, spaces and Mc or Mac make no difference - and a small typo is read as the nearest name, with a line saying so.
English and fifteen other languages into Irish, with the language detected for you. A phrase it knows is answered from the phrasebook; anything else is translated word by word and marked as such.
Type the number and it is written in words as you type: ordinals, ages, counting people, and counting any noun you name.

Keep the words you have looked up, save the ones you want, and keep your day streak. All of it stays in the browser, on your device, and can be backed up as text to carry to another device.
